Who will be the NL's Most Valuable Player? Two names that come to mind are the Washington Nationals Anthony Rendon and Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers. Christian Yelich, with the Milwaukee Brewers, certainly was a contender, but the outfielder suffered a fractured kneecap in a recent game and will be out for the season.

Rendon's .337 batting average is the best in the league, and the third baseman's 114 runs batted in makes him second to Freddie Freeman of the Atlanta Braves. With a 1.116 OPS, Rendon tops Bellinger's .927. However, Bellinger ranks second, along with Yelich, for homers in the NL with both tied at 44.

Use Game-Day Goddess: Learning Baseball's Lingo and Game-Day Youth: Learning Baseball's Lingo by Suzy Beamer Bohnert to keep up with the game. Available now in paperback and e-book from Amazon at www.amazon.com and Barnes and Noble at www.bn.com.
